| The first day of Pre-K is always a very exciting day for teachers, students, and parents! Sometimes, we as adults feel as if we learned all we ever really needed to know we in Pre-K! After morning discussion and circle time the children are given some free play time followed by an art project or gym. Lessons may include working with alphabet tracing, science activity, simple math, cooking experience and much more. We learn to use our classroom computers. Our educational programs are fun and entertaining, while teaching the basic computer skills. Our Pre-K teacher is fluent in Spanish and uses Sign Language on a daily basis. Children in this classroom learn many basic Spanish and Sign Language words and phrases that they enjoy sharing with all who come to visit the classroom. Teachers in Discoveryland know that the physical activities we provide help children learn. Playing games and having gym class leads to great social opportunities as well as moving to more learning experiences. Our day is also filled with singing songs together as children in this age love to join in singing. Our hope is to meet their physical, social and emotional needs in an environment which encourages optimum intellectual development. Parent Conferences are available twice a year. We believe parent conferences are very important and help us to work closely with all parents throughout the year. We'll work together to help your child do his or her best in Pre-K. |
